Probably the most morteros I have seen in one place. Apparently this area had a large settlement at one time.

I liked the way the Ocotillo and the rock framed this picture.

These are called "Yonis" and are an Indian fertility symbol carved out of the rock. The Yonis and other rock carvings in the area are thought to be thousands of years old.

Experts believe the pictographs here to be hundreds of years old while some of the rock carvings date 4000 BC.

There were three or four sun representations in the cave.

Exposure to the elements has taken its' toll on the pictographs closer to the entrance.

We couldn't decide if this was suppose to be a person or a lizard. When I did some research I learned it was called an antromorph for obvious reasons.

Bob and Lisa from Bend, Oregon with their Boston Terriers "Rupert" and "Albert". Bob had been checking our site so we agreed to meet them in Anza Borrego. They have been doing a great trip down from Oregon hitting all the great campsites along the way.
